Today is
MaundayThursday OF
HOLY WEEK

Let us not be content to wait and see what will happen,
but give us the determination to make the right things happen.

HEARING GOD'S VOICE
Read Matthew 26:26,27
"Jesus took a loaf of bread, and said,
"Take, eat, this is My body,
"Then He took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them,
 saying,
"Drink from it, all of you. This is My blood."

Today we remember the sacrament of Holy Communion, which Jesus instituted on this night. In many respects, this sacrament could be called a sacrament of sacrifice. For in the bread and wine of this sacred meal, we receive our Savior's very body that was broken and His very blood that was shed.
As this bread and wine cross our lips, thoughts of Christ's sacrifice cross our minds as well. We contemplate that Christ gave of Himself on the cross so that we might share in His new life today. We ponder the fact that Christ gave of His love in this sacrament so long ago so that we might partake of His love even now. And we remind ourselves that the salvation which Christ poured out for all people flows into each one of us who come to His table tonight to take and eat and drink.

Be with us through this season, LORD,
And all our earthly days,
That when the final Easter dawns,
We join in heaven's praise.
THE PRAYER:
Lord, thank You for paying the price
for all the times I walk away from the
responsibilities You give me.
Give me courage and commitment
to step forward and do what You want me to do.
Amen.
Be with us through this season, LORD,
And all our earthly days,
That when the final Easter dawns,
We join in heaven's praise.
Jesus sat with His Disciples, these men,
One of you will betray me, he spoke again.
There was a hush as hearts stood still,
As time was approaching, that Jesus climb that hill.
This is My Body, partake with Me,
Drink of My blood, which will set men free!
They sang together and bread they broke,
Not a word of betrayal was ever spoke!
At the table they sat in deep despair,
Who would betray Our Lord, who would dare?
Jesus eyes looked around so tenderly,
Judas oh Judas, how could thee?
Their fellowship would end that night,
As Jesus was about to take His plight,
They entered the Garden of Gethsemane,
Where the battle would rage for you and me!
